LarkNews is a parody, of course (a Christian version of The Onion or The Daily Mash) but there do exist real-life people like this couple. One or another Catholic saint was born to 19th-century Italian parents who tried to maintain what was called a "white marriage", ie living together like brother and sister. Eventually the parish priest told them that [soiling themselves by indulging their filthy animal lusts] consummating the nuptial union inscribed in their bodily embodiments was not only tolerable but in some circumstances actually required. They duly submitted and another saint (in the Catholic sense, not the New Testament sense) was born.
Admittedly this was some decades before Pope John Paul II wrote his Theology of the Body and explained that the Timeless Tradition is and had always been not "sex, even marital sex, is disgusting so therefore contraception is illicit" but, more properly understood "marital sex is holy and sanctifying so therefore contraception is illicit."
At one or another Catholic blog some years ago, one NFP-Onlyite lady was attacking artificial contraception on the basis that if your future husband should restrain his appetites before he marries you, why should that stop after you get married? Because, yeah, as long as couples with children have condoms or the pill available, it's sex on demand 24/7... And because, yeah, you may have made public vows of lifelong commitment, have joined into one flesh, have entered an indissoluble sacrament, etc, but apart from those minor details, you're still in the same position in the eyes of God as a couple of necking teenagers in the back of a car, and subject to the same restrictions - viz, keep pants zipped until you're married or until the women's cycle has rendered her temporarily infertile, whichever is the later.

Looking for an Obscure Luther Quote? Chances are if you've wound up on this site, you're looking for information on an obscure quote said to come from Martin Luther or one of the other Protestant Reformers. This blog has been compiling information on obscure Reformation quotes for over a decade. Use the search engines below to look for your particular obscure quote.
“Let nobody suppose that he has tasted the Holy Scriptures sufficiently unless he has ruled over the churches with the prophets for a hundred years. Therefore there is something wonderful, first, about John the Baptist; second, about Christ; third, about the apostles...“We are beggars. That is true.” - Martin Luther
"It is true that the best apologetics can be given only when the system of truth is well known. But it is also true that the system of truth is not well known except it be seen in its opposition to error."- Cornelius Van Til
"But a most pernicious error widely prevails that Scripture has only so much weight as is conceded to it by the consent of the church. As if the eternal and inviolable truth of God depended upon the decision of men!"- John Calvin
"The Scriptures obtain full authority among believers only when men regard them as having sprung from heaven, as if there the living words of God were heard."- John Calvin
This is the best book available on Sola Scriptura. For Protestants, it will help you understand and defend sola scriptura. For Catholics, this book will help you understand exactly what Protestants mean by sola scriptura, rather than what you think it means. I highly recommend getting this book, it never leaves my desk, and serves as a valuable reference tool.

Not seeing the Biblical support for this, esp. given "be fruitful and multiply".

I'm not familiar with this site, but I was raised on the Wittenberg Door magazine. That's all we had back then...
there do exist real-life people like this couple.
Correct. Like for instance, anyone who holds to the ridiculous doctrine of the Perpetual Virginity of Mary.
Rho, LOL
