R. R. Toiken comes out especially in the 3rd movie of Lord of the Rings (if it is an accurate from the book - I have not read the books) <br /><br />The ghosts/souls of that vast army did good works by fighting and to help the good guys defeat Sauron's army.<br /><br />The Ghosts of Purgatory - seems compatible with that theology.
