It's a much smaller volume of letters, I recall actually doing a blog article on this book some time back.

The largest selection of letters in English is found in the Luther's Works set (3 volumes). Preserved Smith has at least 3 volumes of letters.

As I researched this a bit, I found it hard to believe I couldn't find any letters from Luther to Zwingli. There are letters from Zwingli to Luther. I simply assumed letters sent between these two men would be important enough to have published. I actually wrote a person over at Concordia Seminary familiar with the Luther corpus, and he couldn't recall any letters from Luther to Zwingli either.

Well, it wouldn't shock me if a letter pops up. will it be as the result of Steve Ray's historical research? Probably not.James Swanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16136781934797867593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19795707.post-64987138086963759382007-12-19T06:04:00.000-05:002007-12-19T06:04:00.000-05:00Let's face it . . . if Mr. Ray could have produced...Let's face it . . . if Mr. Ray could have produced the proper documentation, he wouldn't be able to type fast enough

Indeed. When we cite one of their popes saying something outrageous the cry is "Show me the context!" When the question is reversed, well, one gets back an eleven page PDF file or a blog entry on typos.

You would think that it would just be easier Mr. Ray to produce a citation to prove his case rather than an 11 page PDF which proves nothing. What an irresponsible waste. Let's face it . . . if Mr. Ray could have produced the proper documentation, he wouldn't be able to type fast enough.James R.
