I have made the decision to close the CAF after lengthy consultation with the Catholic Answers executive committee and board of trustees.

When we add to the inconclusive value of the forums, the significant cost in financial resources and personnel time to host, operate, and to what degree we can, govern them, Catholic Answers can no longer justify the effort. Our attempt to draw even a tenth of what they cost to operate through patronage was not successful. Some regular users of the Forums welcomed user fees. The vast majority wished to make use of the Forums for free.
https://forums.catholic.com/t/forums-to-be-closed/635237

Trying to vainly provided rebuttals to the likes of James Swan of Beggars All: Reformation And Apologetics - one the few we had not permanently banned to show we really had some tolerance - and bandwidth that takes (along with the high salaries of our elite leadership) has over taxed our resources. Also, we have no new arguments that have not been rebutted, and yet no real anti-Catholic (our chosen terms for challengers to our elitism) antagonists left to ban.

And in addition to which our forums exampled how much Catholic teaching was subject to interpretation, and which certain Protestants were using to illustrate this reality, contrary to our narrative that the Catholic Magisterium was the solution to divisions.

And which included having to deal with RadTrad Catholics with their many sects as we valiantly tried to defend Pope Francis when we could - which was becoming increasingly difficult without appearing to ignore his latest liberal leanings or sound too much like RadTrad Catholics.

Therefore we have chosen to simply proffer propaganda without offering our venue to inquire our the meaning of Catholic teachings and allow them to be challenged when we were not banning them that would. Thus - doing one of the things we do best - we have effectively banned our forums themselves. But we will never ban asking you for money.

P: If anyone is looking for censors with high degree of intolerance to protect the Catholic faith from virtually anyone that impugns the one holy Catholic church then send an email to looking2ban@CatholicAnswers.comPeaceByJesushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08754948549904895669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19795707.post-73688660886606729572012-03-26T01:00:07.878-04:002012-03-26T01:00:07.878-04:00Protestant churches aren't just 600 years old....Protestant churches aren't just 600 years old.

We trace our lineage back to Christ and His apostles.

Rome is the schismatical church at least since the time of the Council of Basle.

Peace.Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00759432774174066023noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19795707.post-44873210285256400412012-03-25T14:39:11.339-04:002012-03-25T14:39:11.339-04:00I just have to say the catholic church holds and t...I just have to say the catholic church holds and teaches the doctrines of christ and the apostles and the gates of hell shall not prevailagainst Gods church. I consider any argument with one saved by the cross to be a family dispute. But you should also be aware that wild horses could not drag me from the Catholic Church. Once you start going against the Church, where does it stop. Luther was right in his issues he had with the Church, and in the beggining of his protest, wanted to purge the Church of those in power's corrupt practises. Those issues should have been dealt with within the Church, but they did not take him seriously. Over time after his excommunication, Luther was a broken drunkard who had some serious mental issues. You cant take pieces of his writings ( as you did with his opinion on the Apocrypha) and show him in a light of gentleness. I have read many very disturbing and heretical things from this man. Being empowered by government heads who saw an oppurtunity to change things as they saw fit Luther got out of hand. Luther attempted to remove the Epistle of James from the Bible, calling it "an Epistle of straw". The reformation causes a slippery slope of changing opinions and bad philosiphy. If I write one hundred people a disertation, they will all have their own opinions of what I meant, but I would be the only one who actually knows what I meant. That is why Christ established a teaching Church. It was not until the reformation that the Church had to be identified as the Catholic Church. Before any Scripture was written this Church had to orally uphold Christ's word. That is why I believe Solas Scriptura to be a lie. Back on subject though, Luther, with his break from the Church, should have reformed within like the great Saint Ignatius of Loyola and the Jesuits.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13069442837939576299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19795707.post-8048211873630872052010-05-27T16:19:40.609-04:002010-05-27T16:19:40.609-04:00The reason Luther removed the OT or LXX books not ...The reason Luther removed the OT or LXX books not found in the Hebrew was because of his reliance upon St Jerome's opinion regarding them.

In other words, the Protestant rejection of those books is based upon tradition: I find this to be pretty ironical. The Blogger Formerly Known As Lvkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09663692507774640889noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19795707.post-37848757931746432672010-05-27T10:01:23.129-04:002010-05-27T10:01:23.129-04:00"Remember again, Luther never removed the Apo..."Remember again, Luther never removed the Apocrypha, nor did Thomas Aquinas. Previous to the 16th Century, there was not an infallibly defined canon for the Roman Catholic Church. Previous to such dogmatic declaration, freedom was allowed to hold differing views on the Apocrypha. That's why you'll find a significant amount of people that held differing views on the apocrypha previous to Trent. In keeping with early an Christian tradition, Luther included the Apocrypha of the Old Testament saying, "These books are not held equal to the Scriptures, but are useful and good to read.""

That's quite interesting.
