I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who have been adding comments....Gene Bridges, Carrie, Theo, L.P. Cruz, Ree, Rhology, Pilgrim, ...and everyone else. I haven't posted a lot of blog entries because of your comments. I don't get a lot of time to respond to the comments, but any of you that knew me over at CARM know I love a good dialog.

I've been thinking of doing a complete blog overhaul...a new template, and a complete revision of my sidebar. Also, I would love to have others join me in making this a group blog. Particularly when I begin taking classes via Westminster in the fall, my blogging time will be a little tricky.

Jim,

You have been my resource on Luther and you are my Luther expert (shame on me). It is wonderfully ironic that I rely on a Reformed guy to tell me what my former priest said, did and teach.

Hi James. I was recently told by Frank Ramirez, a Catholic who has been coming into pros, that you and James White told him to say "hi" to me. I don't know how to contact you or him otherwise, so here I am saying "hi" back. Hope you are well, and that your studies are proceeding profitably.

Er, this is Tim Enloe. I just saw that my blogger account isn't showing my identity for the above comment.

Wow! I just read that and thought, "That can't be Tim Enloe saying that," and then I read the next comment and it is! :)

Are you studying at Westminster in PA? If so, that's only a short drive from my home church (Elkins Park RPC).

Hello ree,

Whether or not James replies to me, let me just say that he and I never had any problems (that I know of), so there isn't bad history to get in the way. Regardless, I always had great respect for his work on Luther, and still do. No doubt we do not see eye to eye on many things, but I see no reason why I should be on bad terms with James.

Hey Tim-

No, there are no problems between us, and thanks for stopping by. I recall stopping by your blog and saying "hi" a year or so ago.

Many people don't know this, but it was because of you that I began actually writing things on Luther and having them put "on-line." You were the first person to ever contact me privately and ask me to write for your web site. I'm indebted to you for inspiring me to write.

Hi James,

Great, glad to hear all that! I wasn't sure when you stopped by a year or so ago whether you were critiquing what I wrote at the time or adding to it, and we were both so busy, I guess, that there was never any follow up.

If I may ask, what will you be studying at Westminster this Fall? I will be studying humanities at University of Dallas, myself. I hope I will have at least some time for extra-curricular reading so that I can keep up with my great passion, Church history, but if I don't then the tone of my blog will change somewhat due to the emphasis on classics. I may end up for a while writing more on the Iliad or ancient Roman theories of government or on Cicero and Quintillian than on Medieval Church history and the Reformation. We'll see.

At any rate, I wish you well in your own studies. I know that like me you do not have a whole lot of time to spare, but if at some point you do, I would love to hear your thoughts on any of my numerous posts on Reformation history issues or Luther in particular. Those posts are generally found under the categories "15th Century," "16th Century," and "Reformational Ruminations." God bless,

Tim
